Expert mode
In Expert mode all screen elements are visible. By default the amount of elements visible for new users is reduced. This should protect newbies from doing unwanted things. Most actions are still accessible by their Shortcut keys even when Expert mode is disabled.
Enabling Expert mode
It can be switched like this:
View menu > Expert Mode
or
Edit menu > Preferences… > Checkbox Expert mode at the bottom left.

The following features are only visible when the Expert mode is enabled. This list is probably incomplete.
Actions
- Convert to GPX layer
- Add selection to relation
- resolve all selected conflicts to my/their versions in context menu of Conflict List Dialog
- Encourage/Discourage Upload in Data layer context menu
