Zoom

source:trunk/resources/images/mapmode/zoom.svg No keyboard shortcut (expert mode only) — is one of the working modes

With the Zoom mode the Map view can seamlessly be placed to specific area. Left click and drag a rectangle to zoom the viewport to that rectangle. If the zoom rectangle is drawn from top-left to bottom-right, you are zoomed in. If the zoom rectangle is drawn from bottom-right to top-left, you are zoomed out (since JOSM version 16900).

In all working modes zooming and scrolling the map is possible with:

  • Using the mouse scroll wheel – Zoom
  • + or Ctrl+, – Zoom in
  • - or Ctrl+. – Zoom out
  • drawing a rectangle in the Map view :
    • from top-left to bottom-right – Zoom in
    • from bottom-right to top-left – Zoom out
  • Moving the slider top left in the Map view – Zoom
  • Several entries in the View menu - Zoom and scroll
  • Ctrl+Arrow – Scroll the map
  • Right click and drag – Scroll the map
