Hide validator after upload

Reported by: Filip009 Owned by: team

Description

Hello, I would like that, "Validation Results" will hide automatically after upload. As they appear on side panel while upload, it would be nice, that they would also dissapear automatically.

There was a small talk about this on Discord channel #josm 09.09.2024 at 8:54 PM CEST. https://discord.gg/openstreetmap 2 more people would also like to have this feature.

Right now, it looks like this behavior already exists.

If I have closed the validator toggle dialog, upload something (with no issues), the validator toggle dialog does not appear.

The validator dialog window does stay if the user already had it open.

If I misunderstood the problem feel free to reopen the ticket with a status report and a better description of the problem.

Thanks for your report, however your ticket is incomplete and therefore not helpful in its current form.

Please add all needed information according to this list:

  • The required parts of the Status Report from your JOSM.
  • Describe what behaviour you expected.
  • Describe what did happen instead.
  • Describe if and how the issue is reproducible.
  • Add any relevant information like error messages or screenshots.

To ensure that all technical relevant information is contained, create new tickets by clicking in JOSMs Main Menu on Helpsource:trunk/resources/images/bug.svg Report Bug.

Remember: This is a generic notice so we don't need to write the same stuff again and again. It may only apply in parts to the specific case!

So...
1) You click on upload button
2) Window with validator issues will appear
3) You will close this window
4) On side panel validator will appear with issues

  • you will fix those, or ignore them

5) You click upload
6) You upload
7) your "step back" history is cleared (and here it would be nice, to also hide validator on side panel without need to close it manually)

Ah. You want the validator window to remember the reason why it was opened, and to hide itself if the cause was upload checks AND all issues have been fixed.

I think, that not all issues needs to be fixed. Many times happen, that you cannot fix some waterway, highway crossing, because you do not know actual situation, so I would like, that it will dissappear after upload all the time.
