Detect address nodes near a building without an address

Description

We may consider enhancing the plugin by checking whether an address node is close to a building that is missing address information.

Could you please detail your request? Does the plugin currently issue warnings for such buildings? An example would be great.

Hi,

Here is an example: link to photo (link to location on OSM) Notice the address nodes near areas with the building= tag.

We could enhance the plugin by identifying address nodes close to buildings, and then allowing the map editor to add the address information to the building.

Rather than deleting the address node, we should consider moving the node to somewhere on the building area to keep its history (like UtilsPlugin2's replace geometry).

OK thanks. But this kind of mapping is perfectly valid. Address and building are separate concepts to cover a whole bunch of situations like:

  • several buildings at the same address
  • several addresses for the same building
  • building(s) very far from the gate/postbox where we usually "locate" an address

In this example, mapping addresses on buildings would be fine. But the current tagging is also fine and does not cause any problem.

The resolution will be deleted. Next status will be 'reopened'.
