#23839 closed enhancement (invalid)

Can ImportImage please be updated to be able to read the GPS EXIF data from image files, assuming it exists.

Description

I have been trying to import 360 images into JSOM to place into a map.

But it refuses to do so, complaining that it needs a Worldfile (whatever that is).

From some searching, it seems a Worldfile is something to do with transforming image coordinates.

Which is un-neccessary if the GPS coordinates already exist in the file.

It would also be helpful to just be able to import an image and it gets placed in the middle of the interface, and we can just move it to the right place.

You don't want to use the importimage plugin for 360 images. The import image plugin is for background aerial images (like Bing).

JOSM can open 360 image files by itself. Just make certain that the appropriate metadata is set on the 360 image, or it will be treated like a standard image.

EDIT: To be clear, most 360 images will have that metadata added by the camera.
