#20798 new enhancement
Use data layer for image correlation

Description
When I edit a gpx track, I have to export it to a new gpx file, then load it to use it for image correlation. If I need to reedit the track, I have to do the whole process again, and again....and..
It would be useful to be able to use a "gpx to data" layer as a source for correlating images.
A dynamic link would be even better : The images follow the data layer modifications.

Oh I think I misunderstood your intention (of the first paragraph). You would basically like to use the data layer directly for the image correlation, right?
The tickets mentioned above only fix the issue that you permanently need export and import the layer to/from a file, so now you can convert it back and forth within JOSM.

Using the data layer directly for the image correlation would be a wonderful feature, but that was not the main object of this ticket. You fixed the bug (I'll test soon) and you already deserve a Thank you !
Perhaps I should create another ticket with what I'd like to be able to do with direct data layer to image correlation.

Ok, it looks like I got totally mixed up between my different tickets.
You were right @Bjoeni, I'd like to use the data layer directly for image correlation. It's the main object of this ticket.

So did I, hence the confusion in the first comment ;)
So then this ticket stays open for the direct correlation with data layers.

The first part is fixed in #20795 / #20797

not yet implemented, so I'll leave the ticket open for this
