Keyboard shortcut: F12

Each register stands for a group of settings. Some have tabs.

Icon	Name	Description
	Display	Various settings that influence the visual representation of the whole program. including Look and Feel.
	OSM Data	Settings controlling the drawing of OSM Data
	GPS Points	Settings controlling the drawing of GPS tracks
	Colors	Change colors used in program dialogs and map paint styles
	Language	Change the language of JOSM
	OSM Server	Connection Settings for the OSM server, including Authentication and Overpass Server.
	Proxy	Configure whether to use a proxy
	Map Projection	Settings for the map projection
	Map Paint Styles	Map Paint Styles
	Tagging Presets	Tagging Presets
	File backup	Configure whether to create backup files
	Plugins	Configure available plugins. With Plugins and Plugin update policy
	Toolbar Customization	Customize the elements on the toolbar.
	Audio Settings	Settings for the audio player and audio markers and also the Audio menu
	Keyboard Shortcuts	Changing keyboard shortcuts manually.
	Data validator	Setting for validator and list of checks it runs. With Tests and Tag checker rules
	Remote Control	Settings for the remote control feature.
	Imagery Preferences	Modify the list of imagery sources displayed in the Imagery menu. With Imagery providers, Settings, Offset bookmarks and Cache
	Advanced Preferences	Setting preferences entries directly. (only in Expert mode)

Additional registers and tabs may be added according to installed plugins.
