A checklist to release a new tested version.

- Update TestedVersion (write the version also in edit comment, see here)
- Documentation
- Add date and stable version number at StartupPageSource and add major enhancements from Changelog (if there are ones)
- Update https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/JOSM
- Update https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q12877 new version P:348
- https://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/any/josm/ – Flag Package Out-of-Date

- Microsoft Store (WIP)
- Submit download URL at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/filesubmission (as a "Software developer") using the
Microsoft Defender Smartscreen
option for the Microsoft security product. The file to upload is typically located athttps://josm.openstreetmap.de/download/windows/josm-setup-${REVISION}-java21.msi
, but that should be the same as download/windows/josm-setup.msi. You must wait for the MSI to be built prior to uploading it. This is needed to remove the Microsoft SmartScreen warning, which blocks the store update. You must do this step prior to the review on the store update.- This takes a few hours
- Alternatively to the above step,
- Download the file using Microsoft Edge browser.
- When informed that the download was blocked by Smartscreen select the blocked file and click "Report this file as safe | I am the owner or representative of this website and I want to report an incorrect warning about it"
- Fill out and submit the form. You will receive an email confirming receipt of your report.
- Check 24 hours later to see confirm that the file no longer displays a Smartscreen warning and resubmit (if MS has already reviewed and rejected the update due to the Smartscreen warning)
- Submit download URL at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/filesubmission (as a "Software developer") using the
