Mac OSX: JOSM freezes when opening Plugins pane in Preferences

Hey guys,

I'm experiencing weird problems with JOSM on Mac. When I open the preferences pane and click on "Plugins", the application freezes. No output on the command line, no reaction. I can also see right before I click on plugins, that two preferences windows are opened. The application freezes even if I close one of the two and then open the plugins pane.

My Java version:

java version "1.7.0_45"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_45-b18)
Mac OS 10.9.

I have already tried different versions, only very, very old versions of JOSM don't have the problem in my environment. I have also deleted the .josm directory, no success. Let me know if you need any more information.

Java bug: ​https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8025588 and ​https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8028795

This is fixed in 7u55 (not released yet) and 8 (not released neither).

Java 8 will be released in March and 7u55 in April. In the meanwhile, the best solution to workaround this bug is to use the latest build of Java 8:
