right-clicking an item in validator causes josm to be much less responsive

Description
At least for a few versions back, after right-clicking an item (to zoom to it) in the validator window I've seen so much increased cpu-usage and unresponsiveness, that I've generally avoided running the validator. This is with the josm-latest packages that I'm getting through the Ubuntu packagesystem
