#7634 closed enhancement (wontfix)

Dropdown list alphabetical vs. "increasing" order for some attribute values

Description

Hello,
as a newbie editing osm data with JOSM it would be a help when some of the dialog dropdown boxes would not be sorted in alphabetical order (using version 5047).
As an example "trail_visibility" shows
bad - excellent - good - horrible - intermediate - no.
It would be more intuitive if the list shows
excellent - good - intermediate - bad - horrible - no.
Thank you for your work!

The default order is excellent, good, intermediate, bad, horrible,no. When you are editing a tag where trail_visibility=bad is set, bad is listed first. Are you?

Sorry, I've misunderstood. If you are using the TaggingPresets via menu Preset » Highways » Ways » Track, the attributes are (mostly?) listed in intuitive order. When editing a tag via the properties dialog on the right hand side, the values are indeed listed alphabetically. As this is a auto-completion field filled dynamically, it's hard to have intuitive order there.

Works fine for tagging presets, hard/impossible for add/edit properties dialog.
