imagery: NPE trying to update server list after setting a proxy server

Trying to debug #6470, I got this exception:

Both my imagery server list were empty.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Try to update server list under imagery preferences. (nothing happend)
2. Setting a proxy server under connection settings and closing prefs.
3. Reopen preferences and updating imagery server list

What is the expected result?

server list would be updated using the new connection settings.

What happens instead?

NPE

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

This might have happened because a broken (slow proxy).

I got the same message starting JOSM with that proxy and never again.
