Description

Hi,

Is it possible to add to import mp format which is use in GPSMapedit tool ( ​http://www.geopainting.com/en/ ). GPSMapedit use many people to create own map and next export to garmin format. Many free map exist in mp format for example on ​http://mapcenter.cgpsmapper.com/

JOSM is an osm file editor only, imports of map data from other sources won't be supported. (GPX traces are only positional data, not suitable for direct conversion to osm format, thus why josm accepts them as a data source)

You should probably check svn.openstreetmap.org/applications/utils/import for tools.

Any imports from .mp format should be checked to ensure they meet OSM guidelines and rules - no data derived from copyrighted sources, or sources that are incompatible licenses. Other garmin-type maps have lost legal cases in the past over these issues!
