#450 closed enhancement (fixed)

Add nodes manually

Description

I'd like to suggest a new feature to JOSM. It should be possible to add nodes manually, just by entering its coordinates.

Background: I add new railway lines on a regular basis. Some of these lines have quite a number of tunnels in it. I know the coordinates of both entrances of a number of tunnels (I have visited them. The suggested feature would make that a lot easier.

I know, I could add the coordinates to a GPX file and then load that file. However, that's a lot more complicated than a simple "add node manually" dialog.

Not sure if its any help, but you can import a CSV file of coordinates, but it does form these into a way.

To do this see http://josm.openstreetmap.de/wiki/Help/Preferences/Connection

Adding (and/or moving existing) nodes by entering coordinates into some sort of dialog box is a feature I've been wishing for in JOSM for a while now, I hope it gets implemented.
