#3182 closed enhancement (fixed)

GPX consisting of only markers loads as two layers instead of one.

Description

I have GPX file (created by GPSMid) which contain only markers (series of <wpt> elements with <name> and <time> subelements) and no actual track data. When I load it into JOSM, it loads as two layers: waypoints.gpx (which would contain tracks, but in this case is empty) and "Markers from waypoints.gpx", containing all the markers. The first layer should be only created if there is any track data - i.e. for a GPX file consisting only from markers, only the second layer should be created.

What version of JOSM? Can you post the file here?

I think each gpx file with waypoints adds two layers. A track and a waypoint-layer. If the gpx-file does not contain tracks no track-layer is created. It would make sense to create only a track layer if there are track-data in the gpx-file. It is even possible to delete the track-layer without an affect to the waypoint-layer. I have attached a file.
