What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. I right clicked in the layer menu on a data layer and chose "save as"
  2. Then I modified the preconfigured "save-as" name (in the system dialogue) by positioning the cursor and hitting "del" several times on the keyboard

What is the expected result?

the letters after the cursor in the save-as dialogue get deleted

What happens instead?

it deleted an active map selection (a selected way)

I've seen something like this as well in the last year, but I was never able to reproduce exactly.
At least one other dialog has this problem:

  1. open the download data dialog and switch to overpass api
  2. select the tab for slippy map
  3. create / edit a query, make sure the cursor is in the text field for the query
  4. click into the slippy map view
  5. press - or + to zoom out/in (this works, but the characters are also added to the overpass query

No idea if the cause for the problem is the same, but maybe this helps.
