I'm temporarily rolled back the josm-tested version. I'm going to try and reproduce, but what you are going to need to do is re-enable the JOSM paintstyle, if it is what I think it is.

See wiki:Help/Preferences/MapPaintPreference for details on how to do this. You just need to re-enable JOSM Default (mapcss).

Also, it would be greatly appreciated if you could give us the status report. See the below text for instructions.

Thanks for your report, however your ticket is incomplete and therefore not helpful in its current form.

Please add all needed information according to this list:

  • The required parts of the Status Report from your JOSM.
  • Describe what behaviour you expected.
  • Describe what did happen instead.
  • Describe if and how the issue is reproducible.
  • Add any relevant information like error messages or screenshots.

To ensure that all technical relevant information is contained, create new tickets by clicking in JOSMs Main Menu on Helpsource:trunk/resources/images/bug.svg Report Bug.

Remember: This is a generic notice so we don't need to write the same stuff again and again. It may only apply in parts to the specific case!

Fix #23341: Paintstyles are wiped when updating when the user has never explicitly changed the styles

I need to check and see if the styles have previously been set. This needs to be done once we have passed the critical fix stage. People who have explicitly disabled paintstyles will have the JOSM paintstyle enabled on every start until that happens.

HotFixes aren't so easy. Needs manual build-start ;-) Did that now. The TestedVersion page does not trigger a build (on purpose).

I kind of figured TestedVersion doesn't trigger a build; I don't remember what the timing is for the josm-latest build (I think I saw 2:00 somewhere in Europe at one point).

Replying to taylor.smock:

Nah. Too dangerous. You only can mark something which is already there.

Fix #23341: Don't set paintstyles to nothing when paintstyles haven't been modified by the user

The original fix (r18907) was a short-term fix that reset paintstyles to the
default if the list was empty. This is not ideal, since people who have
deliberately made their paintstyle list empty now have to clear it every time
JOSM starts.

This patch fixes that by only attempting to remove potlatch2 if the user has
previously modified the painstyle list. The previous patch was necessary to get
most users back to a "known good" state, especially those that have never used
the style settings.
