Text fields autoselection behavior when activating JOSM window

Select an object, open the Add tag dialog (Alt+a), type something into key or value text fields. Switch to a different program, then back to JOSM. The entire text in the field will be automatically selected, which is inconvenient when I'm in the process of adding a name or a changeset comment and need to switch to a different program to see something, then I have to remember to press right first in order not to overwrite the previous text.

This is probably not a bug, but a feature for some use case. I would prefer to keep the selection as I left it. Maybe make this autoselect behavior configurable?
