#20453 new defect
VPN Connection doesn't time out with MultiFetchServerObjectReader

Description
My IP address sometimes changes due to VPN reconnecting.
After this it may happen that Fetching a package of nodes ... never finishes, even after 30 mins.
It looks very much like https://josm.openstreetmap.de/ticket/20416 but in my case the "Cancel" button doesn't react and I have to kill the Java process. OS is Linix.
Does MultiFetchServerObjectReader use the same timeout like Overpass and may I lower it?

Does it help to turn off your connection and reconnect. Maybe this way, JOSM at least stops the download action.
In #20416, Cancel
does not work and it could be even the same problem with changes in routing.

Wait a minute, what happens if you close the download window? In my case, I am able to continue working, though the download hangs in background.
Interesting. I assume your problem has to be solved in the VPN configuration, but I have no idea how.
The timeouts for HTTP connections can be changed in the preferences. Values are in seconds, so I doubt that this will help you:
