#20248 new enhancement
Warn of stiles on bridleway (or path with designated bicycle/horse)
Reported by: | anonymous | Owned by: | team |

Description
"barrier=stile" is an obstruction that should "normally" only be present on ways that are only for foot traffic (footway, pedestrian (maybe?) and path with *only* designated foot).
Would it be possible to expand the validator to warn if a stile is present on a way that allows horse, bicycle (or vehicle traffic).

Yes, barriers might be an obstacle but do not imply access
.

May happen when a footway (or similar) crosses a way that is for other different "traffic" but the stile is accidentally added to the intersecting node, rather than to some new node on the footway offset from the intersection.

This is something different. I do not know many places where a barrier is exactly at the intersection of highway=*
. So a node with barrier=*
and either middle node of one parent highway
and one or more other highway=*
connected, or child of three highway=*
(end nodes), could be warned about. Only talking about linear ways here.
At most at info level, as in some cases it actually happens.
