Selecting muliple tasks in JOSM . Borders of tasks are not visible anymore

Reported by: watergeus Owned by: team
Priority: normal Milestone:
Component: Core Version:
Keywords: template_report HOT Tasking Manager Cc:

Description

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Validating tab. First select in TM3 multiple tasks
  2. Start Editor in TM3
  3. In JOSM there will be several layers visible. After selecting Data layer 1 with the rightmouse button a second menu pops up. For this purpose you select convert to GPX layer.

another layer comes up called GPX Converted from: data layer 1. On the working screen a number of dots will be visable .
After right clicking on this layer a menu pops up. select "download from OSM alongside this track. Then a small menu where you can select something. select Download near 'track and waypoints' After downloading the data will be downloaded

What is the expected result? The tasks borders should be visible by the lines surrounding each task.

What happens instead? after downloading the data, the borders of the tasks stay invisible

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible.

A printscreen makes no sense. you will see only the nodes on the edges of a task as a small coloured dot.
This bug runs a while. you can do without, but where a task ( at the borders of a project) are sometimes just a partial task, you have no clue where the task ends in JOSM. Normally you should see the coloured lines as a task border.

I think, JOSM just receives remotecontrol commands. Everything else is done in https://github.com/hotosm/tasking-manager.

Resolution: othersoftware
Status: newclosed

I just improved the HOT Tasking Manager (TM4) remote control workflow. Remote control commands should be more robust now. If a command fails, it still won't try again, but at least users won't be editing on the task border layer.
