Update Wiki for Validator Dialog

Description
I don't know if or how we should document that the file %APPDATA%\JOSM\validator\ignorederrors is replaced by preference entry validator.ignorelist
.
The old file did not contain descriptive texts, just numbers. The new list contains the descriptive texts, but only when the entry was created with a recent JOSM version (r14828).
I've attached some screen shots to the wiki
https://josm.openstreetmap.de/wiki/Help/Dialog/Validator
but the existing animated GIF was made on a different OS and I don't yet have a tool to create animated GIF.
I suggest to mention this on the JOSM startup page together with a hint that it might be a good idea to remove all the old entries and ignore them again.

Just to make sure that nobody waits for me: My understanding is that I cannot change these pictures on my own.

A normal wiki user can only replace existing attachments uploaded himself. If you want to replace other attachments open a ticket and one of the Admins will delete the old image, so you can upload the new one. If you want to do this more often you could get permissions for it.

I've opened this ticket to trigger that action ;)
Should I upload other screen shots first?

For the admin its easier if you promise to upload them and you are trustworthy, so only the old ones need to be deleted :-)
Tell the page and the name of the file to de dropped.
Otherwise it's download new, delete new, delete old, upload new as old. Much more work...

OK, sorry for the trouble. I don't fully understand how the actions are coordinated. Would it be easier to attach the new screen shots to the ticket?

No, same workflow as above. Simplest solution is to tell which files are to be deleted. The admin deletes them and you reupload the new ones afterwards. Adding them to the ticket is additional benefit thought (helps in case for some reason you do not upload them to the proper page later).
The issue is, that there is no "rename attachment" function. This will come in trac next major release: https://trac.edgewall.org/ticket/12870

First confusion about numbers in the ignore list came up here https://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewtopic.php?pid=744319#p744319
I didn't find a good short wording that would fit at the StartupPage. Any ideas?

No good idea, one reason why I opened this ticket.
In the mean time I learned that it wasn't a good idea to store the translated strings in the preferneces. I think it would have beenn better to store the untranslated strings and only present the translated strings in the dialog(s).

My last comment was not meant to stop things, seems we have some kind of deadlock here?
I think the animated GIF works fine, it is just a bit outdated, so I'll try to find a tool which creates this...
Sorry, I found no free tool for windows. I've tried to update the wiki but my screen shot manage-ignore.png seems to have a white background :(
Proposed description:
This window allows to remove items from the ignore list. You can use the delete key or the right mouse button to remove items. If you see only numbers and no descriptive texts the list was migrated from older JOSM versions. In this case it is recommended to remove all items and ignore them again to get the descriptive texts shown above.

I reworked the page wiki:Help/Dialog/Validator, added and updated screenshots, added your description text, made the part with "numbers only" bold and linked the page on the StartupPageSource. I think these should be enough hints for the users. The gif is still old though.
For gifs I use https://www.cockos.com/licecap/. For screenshots http://shotty.devs-on.net/de/Download.aspx or the windows built in snipping tool. Both can capture single windows. With shotty you can capture the mousepointer too and also context menus by using a shortcut to capture.

Thanks, looks good. Please remove the three unused attachments uploaded by myself.

So what can we do with the out-aged validator2.png and validator_using.gif?
Reg. validator_using.gif: A new animated GIF should also show the meaning of the Lookup button.

the out-aged validator2.png
It's brand new. You may need to reload the page as I replaced the file.

Ah, yes, so if nobody wants to update the GIF I think we can close this ticket.

I added an outdated note to the page. wiki:/Help/Dialog/Validator?action=diff&version=43
Animated gifs have very little benefit on help pages. Mostly they are hectic and make people nervous. This causes more harm than good.
