#17182 closed defect (fixed)

No able to view node from history

Reported by: BCNorwich Owned by: Don-vip
Priority: normal Milestone: 19.01
Component: Core Version:
Keywords: template_report regression history Cc:

Description

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Selact a way
  2. View History of that way
  3. Select Node view
  4. Left click on a node.

What is the expected result? There used to be a drop down box where you could select/highlight, via left click, that node on the map.

What happens instead? There is no drop down box therefore a particular node cannot be selected/highlighted on the map.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible.

If you do as above and double click a node you get a popup box of the history of that node. Selecting coordinates from the node history box then shows a map in the drop down box of that nodes last change if any.
I do like this new performance but would also like the node to be highlighted on the main map for editing purposes.
Thanks for your time.

Bernard

Replying to BCNorwich:

There used to be a drop down box where you could select/highlight, via left click, that node on the map.

Are you sure? It doesn't ring a bell for me...

Hi, in the box that lists all the nodes in a way you used to either right or left click a node and it would be selected/highlighted on the map. You could then close the box and edit the selected node which remained selected/highlighted.

I randomly chose r13271 for testing. This version provides the mentioned popup menu:

Hi, that's it (glad it wasn't my age messing things up), that action disappeared in (I think) the last update. It was a very useful feature, I used it to look for any new nodes in a way and select them for scrutiny/amendment. Many new mappers frequently join things up that shouldn't be joined, the disappeared feature greatly helped to amend/correct this sort of editing.

So can we have it back again? Please?

Yes, the feature will come back. It got lost in the course of fixing another issue.

@Don-vip: Most likely a regression of r14463.
