#16439 new defect

Incidently: cannot use [Select, move, scale and rotate object (S)] to Select an Object.

Reported by: AnkEric Owned by: team
Priority: minor Milestone:
Component: Core Version: latest
Keywords: Cc:

Description

Incidently: cannot use [Select, move, scale and rotate object (S)] to Select an object.
Object does receive focus (is "selected"), but object is not - in effect - Selected: cannot be moved, scaled, rotated or edited.

Work-around:
Draw a random Node on the Map by [Draw nodes (A)]. Delete the node. Now the Map has focus.
Than use [Select, move, scale and rotate object (S)] to Select the object. Now it's OK.

This issue cannot be reproduced (on demand). Incident only.
But also: almost always at least once a day.
Issue occurs after fresh starting JOSM, but also after some time.
I don't think it's a hardware (mouse) issue or user error. It's JOSM only, no other applications.

Thanks for your report, however your ticket is incomplete and therefore not helpful in its current form.

Please add all needed information according to this list:

  • The required parts of the Status Report from your JOSM.
  • Describe what behaviour you expected.
  • Describe what did happen instead.
  • Describe if and how the issue is reproducible.
  • Add any relevant information like error messages or screenshots.

To ensure that all technical relevant information is contained, create new tickets by clicking in JOSMs Main Menu on Helpsource:trunk/resources/images/bug.svg Report Bug.

Remember: This is a generic notice so we don't need to write the same stuff again and again. It may only apply in parts to the specific case!

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. This issue cannot be reproduced (on demand). Incident only.
  2. Select Object
  3. Move (for instance) Object

What is the expected result?

Object (f.i. Node) is Selected (by [Select, move, scale and rotate object (S)]) and Moved (by Mouse drag).

What happens instead?

Object is Selected (is selected!) but cannot be Moved (was not selected, apparently!).

When this happens, first step (trying to work-around) is to re-select the Node once again. And try to move.
And again, and again, but the Object cannot be moved.

Work-around:
Draw a random Node on the Map by [Draw nodes (A)]. Delete the node. Now the Map has focus.
Than use [Select, move, scale and rotate object (S)] to Select the object (click) and Move Object (drag). Now it's OK.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible.
