Portable setup - relative directories possible?

I am using portable JOSM and it is working very well.

When using my own (local, adapted) styles and presets, the directories are set as absolute address. I could't manage to set it as relative (../styles/)and keep it like this.
The result is, that every time the drive letter associated with the USB-stick changes, these local files won't load. It is true for styles and local presets (the associated icon file).

Is there perhaps a switch in advanced settings I haven't noticed or was it simply not needed yet? Or is there any workaround?
