Changesets 44908610, 44908677, 44909702, and 44909725
moved nodes 4450606777, 4502926154, 4524981479, and 4379443012 several thousand KM instead of adding tags to their parent way.
I don't know what sequence of actions the user did. Java9 was suggested as a possible cause.
The first one is perhaps the easiest to debug. The node moved was part of a building from a HOT project

It happened 3 times to me (JOSM 11427) and I think it happens if I save during map is in overview (very low resolution).

I am sorry but I did not notice the error at the same day, so I have no status report.
I made about 100 changes that day and at about 4 changes this error happened.
Since then it was not reproducible any more.

A status report is still helpful as I would know your version of Java and how you launch JOSM.

http://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/45228754 is another large node move from JOSM 11427.
