No memory warning when loading OSM data

Hello,

when I load a very large OSM file, e.g. ​http://download.geofabrik.de/europe/germany/bayern-latest.osm.bz2 the loading hangs, but no memory warning is printed (default memory settings of java). Instead all my CPU's go to 100%.

I tried abort and that worked (at least on last test), so the software is not totally dead.

Anyway that's a highly unwanted behaviour.

P.S. With enough memory assigned loading is as smooth as expected.

How much memory is ENOUGH for this file?:)

Don't know. I assigned 22GB as far as I remember :-)
