Cancel Note creation

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. open Notes Dialog
2. click on create new note
3. right click or press ESC, A or S to cancel this operation does not work

For me, pressing the keys A or S changes the mode correspondingly, however ESC does not do anything …

In 8210/josm:

fix #11326 - Cancel note creation with escape key, do not create note with right click

When I created the ticket, I assume I did not have a data layer as active layer. This way you cannot cancel note creation. But there is the same behavior for other working modes e.g. for gpx.
