Description
Hello.
It would be great to have a preset for junction=yes (a junction as such – independent of its type – see http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:junction%3Dyes for details). It could be in the same group like roundabout and ford (Street/Street/last group)
Applicable to: nodes, areas
Fields: a field for name=*
Pitfalls: for translation, probably it makes sense to comment that “junction” means here not exclusivly crossroads, but any type of junctions (T junction, Y junctions, Spaghetti junctions...)
Use case: In some countries (for example Korea) we have junctions with names, and they are even more important thant the street names.

I think we could add a "Named Junction" preset entry to make it clear.
Although not as common as in Korea and Japan, it appears to also exist in the USA:

And remove it from the “construction” preset.
Here comes an example preset…

So a junction=roundabout can't be 'named'? If there is a name tag on the comprising ways, is it the name of the street/road, not the junction?

Hm, sometimes it is difficult to differentiate between the name of the roundabout itself and the name of the roads that build up the roundabout…
Yes, I would say that the name tag of a junction=roundabout + highway=* is the name of the highway itself (and usually it is rendered on the road itself).
If you tag something in a country where road junctions names serve for local orientation, you can nevertheless add an element (independent from the junction road element) with junction=yes. Example: http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=5.35341&mlon=-4.01689#map=19/5.35341/-4.01689 (and usually rendered as horizontal text).
It is already under Highways -> Streets -> Construction, but nobody would search there.
I fear a bit that people tag every junction with
junction=yes
. However this is not useful in countries where junctions usually do not have names. Should we add a text to the preset somthing like: "Used only in some countries with named junctions"Are there more countries except Korea with named junctions? Othwerwise a Korean specific preset in Presets would maybe be the better choice.
