I am testing it and like entire JOSM it is harder to start using it (in case of iD widget I needed just seconds to figure out purpose and how to use it, here with known purpose and instructions I needed minute or two), but is more powerful (iD will be unable to produce relation described in #10178). And probably nobody will bother with coding new one as existing seems to work quite well.
Thanks for recommendation.

I usually simply copy an existing relation (button in relation list toggle dialog and relation editor). If you do select the objects priorly, you only have to delete the "old" members and include the correct ones plus add the roles.
Have you tried Turn restrictions plugin? It has a little different workflow than iD's widget - I just select the from way, via node, to way (in that order), click on the create new turnrestriction button, select the proper turn restriction type (it even seems to try to guess correct one) and confirm.
