Marker Layer > Show/Hide Text/Icons

Marker layers usually show the name of the waypoint from which each marker was derived and either an icon or a little 'x' to mark their position. For Audio, Web and Image markers, the icons are active buttons.

This option hides (or shows again) the icons, buttons and text, leaving only the 'x' and, in particular, the audio play head arrow for audio playback.

You can also permanently suppress just the display of text labels against Audio, Image and Web markers by un-setting the 'Label audio markers' preference in Audio Preferences, which actually applies to all these kinds of marker.
