    1717It's a workaround. If the validation would highlight the ways, clicking on the error message would "hide" the actual problem. Imagine many kilometers long ways where everything is highlighted although the problem is only in a small area and hard to spot. Zoom into the problem wouldn't help. Probably I can attach an example.

     19The best would be if JOSM could highlight way segments where the two end nodes are not consecutive.
